Meet Alyssa: Herbalist, Yoga Instructor, Reiki Master, Holistic Health Coach & Science Teacher

Hi, I'm Alyssa!
Yoga and herbal medicine have been guiding lights on my journey, helping me navigate the demanding world of teaching high school biology and chemistry in New York City for over thirteen years. The profound impact these practices had on my well-being and resilience inspired me to deepen my knowledge and pursue my passions.
Driven by a desire to share the transformative power of yoga and herbal medicine, I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2013. This training not only deepened my personal practice but also equipped me with the tools to guide others on their own yoga journeys.
In 2016, I embraced the world of herbalism through a clinical herbalism apprenticeship. During this apprenticeship, I helped take care of a herbal medicine wheel at a community garden. It was in this garden that I fell in love with learning about plants. After graduating from my apprenticeship, I taught a herbalism science elective at the high school I taught at in Brooklyn for two years. Together with my students, we would venture on plant walks, exploring the school's courtyard and identifying native medicinal plants. We nurtured and cared for our own grow boxes, cultivating a deeper connection to nature and the healing properties of plants. Through hands-on activities, my students learned the art of drying and processing herbs, as well as creating their own herbal tea blends, tinctures, oils, and salves.
Now, as a dedicated practitioner and educator, I bring the wisdom of yoga, herbal medicine, and science together, empowering individuals and communities to discover their own path to wellness and vitality. With a focus on holistic healing and mindful living, I offer herbal consultations, yoga classes, herbal workshops, reiki sessions and personalized wellness protocols.
