Understanding Nadi Shodhana
Nadi Shodhana derives its name from the Sanskrit words "nadi" (energy channels) and "shodhana" (purification). This pranayama technique involves the deliberate and regulated flow of breath through alternate nostrils, creating a harmonious balance between the left and right energy channels within the body.

The Benefits of Nadi Shodhana

Step-by-Step Guide to Nadi Shodhana
1. Find a comfortable seated position, ensuring that your spine is upright and relaxed.
2.  Gently bring your right hand to your face. Rest your index finger and middle finger on your third eye (the spot in between your eyebrows)
3. Place your thumb on your right nostril and gently close it. e) Inhale deeply through your left nostril, filling your lungs.
4. Release the thumb from the right nostril and use your ring finger to close the left nostril.
5. Exhale slowly and completely through the right nostril.
6. Inhale through the right nostril, then close it with your thumb.
7. Release the ring finger from the left nostril and exhale through the left nostril. 
8.  Repeat this cycle, inhaling through the left nostril, and exhaling through the right, alternating nostrils with each breath. 
9.  Continue this practice for several minutes, maintaining a smooth, steady rhythm.

Incorporating Nadi Shodhana into Your Routine Nadi Shodhana can be practiced as a standalone technique or integrated into your regular yoga and meditation practice. It is best to practice Nadi Shodhana in a quiet and peaceful environment, preferably in the morning or early evening when the mind is naturally calmer.
